Add Image to GIF

Put a picture, logo or sticker on a GIF. Resize, fade or add it as a strip.

Your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

This tool puts a picture, logo or sticker on an animated GIF. Drag it anywhere on the GIF and resize it, make it see-through like a watermark, fade it in, or add it as a strip above or below the animation. The GIF keeps moving with your image on it. It is free, adds no watermark of its own, and nothing is uploaded.

How to Add an Image to a GIF

  1. Choose your GIF. An animated WebP works too.
  2. Choose the image to add: a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF. A PNG logo with a transparent background looks best.
  3. Pick the placement: Anywhere (drag it on the preview), Strip above or Strip below.
  4. Set the size, opacity and fade, and the maximum width of the result.
  5. Click Save GIF and download it.

On the GIF or in a Strip?

  • Anywhere puts the image on top of the animation. Use it for logos, watermarks, stickers and emoji.
  • Strip above or Strip below adds the image as a band outside the animation, so nothing is covered. Use it for banners, titles and brand bars. The GIF gets taller.

How to Put a Logo or Watermark on a GIF

  1. Use a PNG logo with a transparent background.
  2. Choose Anywhere and drag the logo into a corner.
  3. Make it small, around 15–25% of the width, so it doesn't cover the action.
  4. Lower the Opacity to around 50–70% for a see-through watermark.

Fade In or Fade In and Out

Fade in makes the image appear slowly at the start. Fade in and out also makes it disappear before the GIF loops. If both your GIF and the image are still pictures, the tool adds frames so the fade can play.

Can the Added Image Be Animated?

Yes. Add an animated GIF as the image, for example a moving sticker, and both play at once. If only one of them moves, its timing is used. If both move, the timing of the main GIF is used. To put a moving GIF on a still photo, use Add GIF to Photo.

Size and File Size

The result keeps the width of your GIF, up to the maximum you choose (480 to 1000 px). A strip adds to the height. Adding a picture adds colours and detail to every frame, so the file may get bigger. Use the GIF Compressor if you need it smaller.

Your Files Stay on Your Device

Your GIF and your image are combined in your web browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your files stay private.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the GIF keep moving with the image on it?
Yes. The image is added to every frame, and the GIF keeps its animation and timing.
Can I make the image see-through, like a watermark?
Yes. Lower the Opacity slider. Around 50–70% works well for a logo watermark.
Can I add an image to a GIF on my phone?
Yes. The page works in your phone's browser. Drag the image with your finger to move it.
Can I add text instead of an image?
Yes, with Write on GIF, which has 48 fonts and caption bars.
What happens to a very large GIF?
The result is scaled down to the maximum width you choose, up to 1000 px. This keeps the file size reasonable.
Is Add Image to GIF free to use?
Yes. Add Image to GIF is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed directly in your web browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the file is gone from memory when you close the tab.
