How to Combine GIFs

  1. Choose your GIFs, or drag and drop them into the box above. Put them in the order you want.
  2. Pick a layout: One after another, Side by side, Stacked or Grid.
  3. Set the size: the maximum width of the combined GIF, and for the side-by-side layouts the gap and the number of grid columns.
  4. Choose a background: transparent, white or black.
  5. Click Combine GIFs and download the result.

One After Another or All at Once?

LayoutHow it playsGood for
One after anotherEach GIF plays in turn, then the whole thing loopsJoining scenes into one longer GIF
Side by sideAll GIFs play at once in a row, at the same heightComparisons and reactions
StackedAll GIFs play at once in a column, at the same widthTall phone screens, before and after
GridAll GIFs play at once in rows and columns of equal cellsCollections, sticker sheets, collages

What If the GIFs Are Different Lengths?

In One after another, every GIF plays in full with its own timing, so the result is as long as all of them together. In the other layouts, the GIFs play at the same time. The combined GIF lasts as long as the longest one (up to 30 seconds), and shorter GIFs loop until it ends. That is why the combined GIF can have more frames than any of your GIFs.

What If the GIFs Are Different Sizes?

In One after another, every GIF is scaled to the size of the first one. Side by side, they are scaled to the same height. Stacked, to the same width. In a grid, each sits in an equal cell. Empty space is filled with your background colour. To make them match exactly, crop them to the same shape first with Crop GIF.

Want to Mix in Videos or Photos?

This tool joins GIFs. To join GIFs with video clips and photos, and to add text and effects, use the GIF Maker.

Keeping the Combined GIF Small

  • Choose a smaller width. A grid of four GIFs at 1200 px holds a lot of pixels.
  • Trim each GIF first in the GIF Editor, so no frames are wasted.
  • Compress the result with the GIF Compressor.

Your GIFs Stay on Your Device

The GIFs are combined in your web browser. Nothing is uploaded, so your files stay private.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many GIFs can I combine?
As many as you like. The only limit is your device's memory. Large grids of big GIFs need a lot of it, so pick a smaller width if the page slows down.
Can I put GIFs side by side?
Yes. Choose Side by side for a row, Stacked for a column, or Grid and set the number of columns.
Why does the combined GIF have more frames than my GIFs?
When GIFs play at the same time, the frames of all of them must line up. The combined GIF lasts as long as the longest one and the shorter ones loop, which needs more frames.
Can I put a photo or video between two GIFs?
Not here. The GIF Maker joins GIFs, photos and video clips one after another.
Can I combine GIFs on my phone?
Yes. The page works in your phone's browser. Big GIFs may take longer on a phone than on a computer.
Is Combine GIFs free to use?
Yes. Combine GIFs is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed directly in your web browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the file is gone from memory when you close the tab.
