How to Resize Your Documents for SBI

  1. Choose the file – start with your photo.
  2. Pick Photo, Signature, Left thumb or Declaration. Pixels and the KB limit are set for you.

SBI Document Sizes

  • Photograph: 200 × 230 px, JPG, 20–50 KB, recent colour photo, preferably on a white background.
  • Signature: 140 × 60 px, JPG, 10–20 KB, black ink, running handwriting – not capital letters.
  • Left thumb impression: 240 × 240 px at 200 DPI, JPG, 20–50 KB, black or blue ink.
  • Handwritten declaration: 800 × 400 px at 200 DPI, JPG, 50–100 KB, in English, black ink, not in capitals.

These figures come from recent SBI recruitment notices and match the sizes IBPS uses. SBI publishes a new notice for every recruitment – check the "How to upload documents" annexure in it before submitting.

Size in KB Is Not Enough

A common mistake is to compress a photo to the right KB but leave it at, say, 1200 × 1500 pixels. SBI's upload checks the dimensions too. This tool sets the exact pixels and keeps the file under the limit in one step. If a file comes out below the minimum (a declaration under 50 KB, for example), it is enlarged to the minimum automatically.

Writing the Declaration
