The UPSSSC PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) and the main UPSSSC recruitments – Lekhpal, VDO, junior assistant and more – use their own photo and signature rules. Recent forms ask for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo of 50–100 KB and a 3.5 × 1.5 cm signature of 30–50 KB. Unlike many exams, these have a high minimum size, so this page also explains how to reach it.
How to Resize Your Photo and Signature for UPSSSC
- Choose your photo – recent, colour, with both ears and your face clearly visible.
- Photo 3.5 × 4.5 cm is selected with a 100 KB limit. Resize and download.
- Choose your signature and select Signature 3.5 × 1.5 cm.
- Check the KB shown – if it is below the minimum, see the next section.
Meeting the 50 KB and 30 KB Minimums
A 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo at 200 DPI is only about 276 × 354 pixels, which often compresses to 20–40 KB – below UPSSSC's 50 KB minimum. A clean signature is even smaller. That is not a quality problem, and the presets here handle it: a file below the minimum is enlarged to just above it automatically, while the picture stays exactly the same.
UPSSSC Photo and Signature Size
- Photograph: 3.5 × 4.5 cm, JPG, 50–100 KB, taken within the last six months, face covering most of the frame.
- Signature: 3.5 × 1.5 cm, JPG, 30–50 KB, black ink on white paper.
These figures come from recent UPSSSC PET guides; UPSSSC sets the final values in each advertisement on its website, so check yours before uploading.
Use the Same Photo for the Main Exam
Your PET score is used for later UPSSSC recruitments. Keep the exact photo and signature files you upload now – using the same ones later avoids mismatch problems at document verification.
