Filling the SSC CGL, CHSL, MTS, GD Constable, CPO or Stenographer form and stuck at the upload step? This page is set up for the sizes SSC usually asks for – a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo of 20–50 KB and a 6 × 2 cm signature of 10–20 KB – so you only choose the file and download. SSC Photo and Signature Size at a Glance

  • Photograph: 3.5 × 4.5 cm (about 276 × 354 px at 200 DPI), JPG, 20–50 KB.
  • Signature: 6 × 2 cm (or 140 × 60 px on some notices), JPG, 10–20 KB.
  • Signature rules: black ink on white paper, in running handwriting – a signature in CAPITAL letters is usually rejected.

SSC has moved several recent forms to a live photo taken with your webcam or phone during the application. In that case only the signature needs resizing. The exact rules are in the notification of your exam – check them before you submit, because they change between cycles.

Common Reasons SSC Rejects a Photo

  • File too small: under 20 KB. The presets here fix this automatically; for other files use Increase Image Size in KB.
  • Wrong background or cap/sunglasses: use a plain white or light background; fix it with White Background Passport Photo.
  • Blurred or stretched face: crop to head and shoulders first with Crop Image so the 3.5 × 4.5 shape fits without stretching.
  • Signature photographed in poor light: make the paper pure white with Black & White Image.

Photo With Name and Date

Some recruitment notices ask for the candidate's name and the date the photo was taken below the picture. Add both with Add Name & Date on Photo, then come back here to set the size.

What is the signature size for SSC?
Usually 6 × 2 cm (some notices say 140 × 60 pixels), JPG, between 10 KB and 20 KB, signed in black ink on white paper.
My SSC photo is under 20 KB. What should I do?
Nothing – the presets here enlarge a file below the minimum (20 KB for the photo, 10 KB for the signature) automatically. The photo looks exactly the same.
Can I sign in capital letters?
No. SSC usually rejects signatures written in capital letters. Sign in your normal running handwriting.
