The NEET UG application on the NTA portal asks for more images than most forms: a passport-size photo, a postcard-size (4 × 6 inch) photo, your signature and your thumb impressions. This page has a preset for each, with the KB limits NTA has used recently – choose what you are uploading and download a file that fits.
How to Resize Photos for NEET
- Choose your image.
- Pick the file: Passport photo, Postcard photo, Signature or Thumb impression.
- Click Resize image – the size and KB limit are applied for you.
- Download and repeat for the next file.
NEET Photo and Signature Sizes
- Passport-size photo: JPG, 10–200 KB, white background, about 80% of the frame showing your face with both ears visible.
- Postcard-size photo: 4 × 6 inches, JPG, 10–200 KB – usually the same photo as the passport one, printed larger.
- Signature: JPG, 4–30 KB, black ink on white paper, not in capital letters.
- Thumb impressions (left and right): JPG, 10–200 KB.
The same NTA rules are used for JEE Main and CUET in most years, so these presets work there too. NTA can change details each year – read the information bulletin before you upload.
Name and Date on the Photo
NTA has asked in some years for the candidate's name and the date the photo was taken to be printed below the photo. Add them with Add Name & Date on Photo before resizing.
Common Mistakes
- Selfies with a busy background – use White Background Passport Photo.
- Different photos for passport and postcard size – use the same photo for both.
- Signature too light – darken it with Black & White Image.
