The e-Aadhaar PDF you download from UIDAI is locked with a password. It is not random: it is the first four letters of your name in CAPITAL letters followed by your year of birth. Aadhaar Card PDF Password Format

• Rule: first 4 letters of the name as printed on your Aadhaar, in CAPITALS + year of birth (YYYY).
• Example: Pankaj Kapoor, born in 1980 → PANK1980.
• Example: Suresh Kumar, born in 1995 → SURE1995.
• Short names: guides differ on names shorter than four letters – try the letters the name has, then the first letter(s) of the surname (for example Ria Sharma, 1990 → RIAS1990).
• Initials and dots count as characters, exactly as printed on the card.

How to Remove the Password From Aadhaar PDF

1. Choose your e-Aadhaar PDF (downloaded from the UIDAI website or mAadhaar).
2. Type the password in the format above.
3. Click Unlock PDF and download the copy without a password.

Password Not Working?

• Use the name exactly as on the Aadhaar, not a nickname or a different spelling.
• Use your year of birth only (four digits), not the full date.
• Make sure the letters are in CAPITALS.
• If your Aadhaar shows only a year of birth, use that year.

After Unlocking
