PNG to JPG

Convert PNG images to JPG.

Supports JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, AVIF, JFIF, SVG and iPhone HEIC photos. Select several files at once.

Your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.

PNG files are great for screenshots and graphics, but they can be huge – a full-screen phone screenshot or a photo saved as PNG is often 3–10 times larger than the same picture as JPG. PNG to JPG converts them into compact JPG images that upload faster, fit email limits and are accepted by every form.

How to Convert PNG to JPG

  1. Choose your PNG files or drag them onto the box – several at a time is fine.
  2. Pick a background colour if your PNG has transparent areas. White is the default.
  3. Set the quality – 92% is visually identical; 75–85% gives much smaller files.
  4. Download the JPGs one by one or all together.

What Happens to Transparency?

JPG cannot store transparent pixels. A logo or sticker with a see-through background gets a solid background in the JPG – white, unless you choose another colour that matches where the image will be used. If you need to keep transparency, stay with PNG or convert to WebP, which supports it and is still small.

When to Convert – and When Not To

  • Convert: photos saved as PNG, screenshots you want to email, images for upload forms with JPG-only rules, pictures for a website where speed matters.
  • Keep PNG: logos and icons with transparency, images with small sharp text you will edit again, line drawings and diagrams where JPG can show faint blur around edges.

How Much Smaller Will It Be?

It depends on the content. Photos and camera images shrink the most – often to a fifth of the PNG size. Screenshots with large flat areas of one colour shrink less, because PNG already compresses those well. Try it: the new size is shown next to each converted image.

Need an Exact Size?

If a form says "JPG under 50 KB", convert here and then use Compress Image to 50KB – or go straight to Reduce Image Size in KB, which also accepts PNG and saves JPG.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Choose your PNG files, pick a background colour for any transparent areas and download the JPGs. The output is already set to JPG.
Why is my JPG smaller than the PNG?
JPG uses lossy compression designed for photos, so it stores the same picture in far fewer bytes. PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which takes more space.
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG has no transparency, so it is filled with the background colour you choose – white by default.
Will text in my screenshot stay sharp?
At 90% quality or higher text looks clean. At low quality, faint blur can appear around sharp edges.
Can I convert several PNG files at once?
Yes. Select them all together and use Download all.
Is PNG to JPG free to use?
Yes. PNG to JPG is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed directly in your web browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the file is gone from memory when you close the tab.
