Compress Image to 50KB
Make a photo 50KB or smaller for forms and uploads.
Your files are processed on your device and are never uploaded.
"Maximum 50 KB" is probably the most common photo limit on Indian application portals – job recruitment, entrance exams, scholarships, passport and visa photo uploads, bank KYC and more. It is enough for a sharp, natural-looking photo, but a normal phone picture is 50–100 times bigger. Set to 50 KB, this page shrinks your photo in one click while keeping as much detail as possible.
How to Compress a Photo to 50KB
- Choose the photo, or drag and drop it. JPG, PNG and WebP work.
- 50 KB is selected. Tap another size chip if your form differs.
- Click Compress image – the best quality that fits under 50 KB is chosen automatically.
- Download the file and upload it.
Typical 50KB Rules
- Photo 20–50 KB, signature 10–20 KB – a long-running pattern on bank and government recruitment portals.
- Photo up to 50 KB for many state exam boards, college admissions and scholarship schemes.
- Document images up to 50 KB such as a caste certificate, Aadhaar or a mark sheet photo.
Requirements can change with every notification, so double-check the size, dimensions and background colour in the current instructions.
How Good Can a 50KB Photo Look?
At 50 KB a JPG comfortably holds around 500 × 600 px at high quality – more than enough for any passport-size or stamp-size print, and sharp on screen. Document photos of about 800 × 600 px remain readable. If the form also fixes dimensions like 3.5 × 4.5 cm, create them first with Photo 3.5 × 4.5 cm.
Two Files, Two Limits
Most forms want the photo and the signature as separate files with different limits. Do the photo here, then the signature with Compress Image to 20KB. Need both on one image? Use Merge Photo and Signature.
