Slow down or speed up MP3, WAV and other audio files online. Choose a speed from 0.5× (half speed) to 2× (double speed), and decide whether the pitch should stay the same or follow the speed like a record player.
Keeping the pitch means a voice still sounds natural when sped up – no chipmunk effect – and music stays in the same key when slowed down for practice.
How to Use It
- Choose a file: MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG – or a video, and its sound is used.
- Set the speed: Tap 0.5×, 0.75×, 1.25×, 1.5× or 2×, or drag the slider for any value in between.
- Choose the pitch behaviour: Tick Keep the original pitch for natural sound, or untick it so the pitch rises and falls with the speed.
- Listen – changes play live, so you can adjust until it sounds right.
- Download the new file.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I slow down a song without changing the pitch?
Choose the song, set the speed below 1× – for example 0.75× – and keep Keep the original pitch ticked. Then download.
How do I speed up audio?
Pick 1.25×, 1.5× or 2×, or drag the speed slider. Keep the pitch option ticked so voices still sound natural.
How do I make a slowed or nightcore version?
Untick Keep the original pitch. Slow down to about 0.8× for a slowed edit, or speed up to about 1.25× for nightcore.
Does it work with video files?
Yes. Choose a video and its soundtrack is changed and saved as audio.
Will quality suffer?
Small changes sound natural. Very large changes – such as 0.5× speed with fixed pitch, or shifting by many semitones – can add a slightly metallic sound.
Is Change Audio Speed free to use?
Yes. Change Audio Speed is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many times you use it.
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. Your files are processed directly in your web browser on your own device. Nothing is uploaded or stored, and the file is gone from memory when you close the tab.
